MORNING NEWS AUDITORIAL | 10th July, 2019

Good Morning,

SITHARAMAN’S LOOSE RED CLOTH BAHI KHATA IS EATING INTO THE MARKETS AND MIDDLE CLASS

To Two Day Test, Semi-Semi Final, and to the Karnataka Lawmakers. While I am on cricket and political fixing, I do miss Arun Jaitley’s blogs, the spin master, often touted as India’s worse finance minister, though former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee was always in a close contest. But now that we have Nirmala Sitharaman here, these two should have no fear. Their challenger has arrived. I am not just talking about the gaping fiscal hole that no auspicious cloth cover could hide or prevent leaking How much the government has earned, is a percentage point lower in the Survey than cited in the Budget. According to NDTV, That percentage point amounts to a whopping Rs. 1.7 lakh crore, a massive shortfall in earnings. But also, that erasure of 2.3 lakh crore or 30 billion USD in market value from the stock market because she also included Trusts in the tax bracket.

Guys she gave us Make in India and we all know how that turned out. If we don’t learn from history, it is bound to keep repeating itself.

ARUN JAITLEY COMES BACK TO HOUND THE TREASURY COURTESY ADHIR CHOWDHURY

Take for example Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who stumped the ruling members in the Lok Sabha, quicker than Dhoni if I may add, invoked Arun Jaitley’s words to justify a protest by Congress MPs in the well of the Lok Sabha, accusing the BJP of subverting democracy in Karnataka.

Sir, a very tall and senior leader of this House, whom I hold in high regard, Arun Jaitley, used to say: `Disruption is also a legitimate weapon of democracy’. So what to do Sir, we also learn from our seniors,” Adhir, the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, said when Speaker Om Birla took exception to the protest in the well.

The treasury bench members appeared to be stumped by the reply.

Jaitley, as the BJP’s leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, and his Lok Sabha counterpart Sushma Swaraj had justified the stalling of Parliament during the UPA’s second term in office.

KARNATAKA MINISTERS IN MUMBAI SEEK POLICE PROTECTION FROM SHIVKUMAR STORM AS SPEAKER GIVES A BREATHER TO AN ALLIANCE UNDER LOTUS ATTACK

So let’s start the Auditorial with the late night nataka of Karnataka. The rebel Karnataka lawmakers who have been camping in Mumbai since Saturday have approached Mumbai Police, saying they feel “threatened” that leaders from their state would force “storm” the hotel where they are staying. Congress strongman DK Shivakumar and a Janata Dal (Secular) leader landed in the city this morning a day after the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition, on the verge of losing its majority after 14 exits, won a breather.

The Speaker of the state assembly, on Tuesday, decided that the resignations were not in order. None of the lawmakers had met him, Ramesh Kumar told the Governor in a letter. While this buys the ruling coalition a little more time, more exits may be inevitable.

RSS’ ROLE IN NATION BUILDING IS NOW PART OF NAGPUR UNIVERSITY’S HISTORY SYLLABUS

Some people are bound to make history they say, while others can easily just rewrite it or overwrite it as you do with files in your pen drive. It is that simple actually. Ask the RSS. India’s right-wing organisation, the parent body of all Hindu right-wing bodies from terror organisations like the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad to the more legitimate ones like the BJP.

In case you missed their role in history, well, truth be told, the entire nation did, but hey when in power, pen down your own version.

A new chapter on the history of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been added to the syllabus of second-year students of BA (History) fourth semester in Nagpur University.

The Sangh’s history, titled ‘RSS’ role in nation building’, is being taught since 2002 as part of the university’s post-graduation course.

NU board of studies (BOS) chairman for history, Shyam Koretti, told TOI the decision to introduce a topic on the RSS in undergraduate studies was taken in May. “It is already taught in MA (History) course, we thought of the prelude to apprise BA students on the organisation’s role in pre-Independence era,” he said.

Now that is a chapter I would want to get my hands on, ideally it should have just blank pages, since it talks about the role in the pre-independence era, but that would not be fair, rather it should also contain what the former Maharashtra Congress president Ashok Chavan has advised the university administration – to also teach students on how RSS vehemently opposed the ‘1942 Quit India’ movement and its opposition to the Indian Constitution and country’s flag.

KANGANA RUNOUT BY JOURNALISTS’ GUILD WHO WRITE OPEN LETTER TO EKTA BOYCOTTING KANGANA

And while we are on fake patriots, a bit of news about a con bigger than the one who gave us Make in India, Rafale and now this budget. Kangana Ranaut, but to be fair, she at least has given some hits. Now, The Entertainment Journalists’ Guild of India has decided to boycott Kangana Ranaut, a delegation from the group told producer Ekta Kapoor on Tuesday, two days after the actor’s spat with a PTI journalist at a promotional event. He sister Rangoli Chandel has been berating journalists, even the non-entertainment one’s on twitter and saying an apology by Kangana is out of the question.

TRUMP COMPLAINS ABOUT INDIAN TARIFFS AGAIN BUT SAYS NOTHING ON NEXT STEPS

And while we are on entertainment, look who is trying to keep itself relevant by finding a new target to attack. And yes oh, god they are similarities between the two, I mean between Kangana and the Donald. U.S. President Donald Trump repeated his complaints on Tuesday that India’s tariffs on U.S. products were unacceptable but he did not indicate whether he would take any further action in the trade row between the two nations.

AUSTRALIAN STUDENT WHO WAS DETAINED BY NORTH KOREA FOR BEING A SPY RELEASED BUT REJECTS SPY ACCUSATION

In other news, Alek Sigley, the Australian student who was detained by North Korea for a little over a week before being released, has rejected the regime’s accusation that he was a spy.

Sigley, 29, returned to social media late on Wednesday, where he released a brief statement after assuring everyone he was well, mentally and physically. He has no plans of returning in the short term even though it means that he will not be able to complete its Master’s Degree and also has to shut down his Tour company. But hey, at least he is safe and back with his wife.

A WHITE AMERICAN MAN KILLED A NON WHITE AMERICAN BOY BECAUSE HIS RAP MUSIC MADE HIM ‘UNSAFE’

Speaking of safe and unsafe, did you know rap music was unsafe for white men. A 27 year old American, white of course, Michael Adams, approached 17-year old Al-Amin from behind as he stood at a soda machine, using a pocketknife to slit his throat and stab him in the back because he had heard Al Amin listening to rap music – a genre that made him feel unsafe. He has actually put this as a probable cause.
