To Everyone except to Asaram, Farhan Akhtar and yes why not, lets put our asses on the line and not wish Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Indian Minister for Law & Information Technology or as he is known by some trolls as Goebbels.
Asaram was jailed for life until death for teen rape, and Farhan was offended because people were sharing Narendra Modi video genuflecting to Asaram. And what did Ravi Shankar Prasad do? To know how lies come back to haunt you, listen to today’s edition of the Auditorial.
ISHRAT JAHAN FAKE ENCOUNTER ACCUSED SAYS ASARAM ‘NEVER RAPED’ ONLY ‘INAPPROPRIATE TOUCHING”
On a day a court in Rajasthan convicted Asaram for raping a teenager girl in his ashram in 2013, former Gujarat IPS officer D G Vanzara, who calls himself a disciple of the self-styled godman, said the victim was “never raped” and the entire case was of “inappropriate touching” at the most.
Just like Sohrabuddin Sheikh was never gunned in an encounter and the entire case was of Sohrabuddin falling over a gun” at the most.
Vanzara also said that attempts are on to sully the image of “saints” like Asaram through such cases, which he said is “not in the interest of the country, Hindus or Sanatan religion”. While Vanzara was discharged from the encounter cases of Sheikh and Prajapati, he is facing charges in the Ishrat Jahan case.
SC NEVER ASKED FOR YOUR MOBILE PHONES TO BE LINKED WITH AADHAAR
India’s Law minister does not know about the law and the IT minister does not know about IT, and it so happens that Ravi Shankar Prasad is both.
From time immemorial all of us have been bombarded by those messages asking for your phone number to be linked to Aadhaar or fear disconnection. It turns out the Law Minister was peddling fake news. Imagine that for a moment.
The Supreme Court yesterday denied directing the mandatory linking of Aadhaar and SIM cards and said the government was using an order passed by it on February 6 last year as a “tool” to seed Aadhaar with SIM cards. The Attorney General has been repeatedly stating to the Supreme Court that mobile linking was mandatory due to a Court order in Lokniti Case. Interim orders were also refused and passed despite petitioners’ objections. And yesterday, on the penultimate day of the final hearing, the state conceded that the order did no such thing and the government had by its own design, its own misinterpretation mischievously set out to force the entire country to harass the citizens to link mobile phones to their Aadhaar via their biometrics.
In any other country, at any other time, the Law Minister would be asked to resign. But not in India, because people are really that gullible.
THE FIXABLE COLLEGIUM OF THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA
Talking about gullibility, several people around us either have no idea of the tragedy playing out in the Supreme Court , or they don’t believe it, or worse they are okay with it. Yes, CJI impeachment, Justic Loya death is just one aspect of how the BJP Government is meddling in the affairs of the Supreme Court. The other has to do with the appointment of judges, where it has no role to play, but is making sure that all roles are assigned to judges who are willing to play along.
Since assuming office, the Modi government has been accused of several attempts to control judicial appointments and transfers: From getting Parliament to pass the National Judicial Appointments Commission Bill, which was later struck down by the apex court, to sitting on collegium recommendations without any explanation and stalling the transfers of several judges.
Escalating its conflict with the Supreme Court collegium, the Modi government has approved the appointment of senior advocate Indu Malhotra as a judge of the apex court while ignoring the recommendation to elevate Uttarakhand High Court chief justice K.M. Joseph.
The first woman lawyer to be elevated directly to the SC, Malhotra will be sworn in Friday and will have a tenure of about three years.
And what is K.M. Joseph’s fault?
Justice K M Joseph had struck down the Centre’s order to impose President’s Rule in Uttarakhand in 2016. Ever since, the Collegium’s recommendation for Justice Joseph’s transfer to Andhra Pradesh and then his elevation to the Supreme Court has been blocked by the central government.
There have been several appeals, including by Supreme Court judges, to CJI Misra to take action in this regard, but he is yet to respond.
‘TROLL ARMIES IN PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI’S PAY’
And please, we aren’t really trolling the Supreme Court or the BJP Government, because for one thing we haven’t been paid by the Prime Minister.
Before you raise your eye brows, India has found mention in a general analysis by the Paris-based media watchdog Reporters Sans Frontieres (RSF) where a direct allegation is being levelled about “troll armies in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pay”.
India, the chapter on which is titled “Deadly Threat from Modi’s Nationalism”, slipped from 136 to 138th rank among 180 countries mapped by the watchdog.
“In India (down two at 138th), hate speech targeting journalists is shared and amplified on social networks, often by troll armies in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pay,” RSF said in its general analysis of the index. This is a change from last year when India did not find mention in the general analysis of the rankings. Relax, the PM is in good company both Donald Trump and he have fallen by two notches on the World Press Freedom Index.
So lets move to whats happening with Uncle Donald?
But before we do that news report is coming in that ;
13 children were killed in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, today after a train and school bus collided.
THE AWKWARD RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MACRON & TRUMP
A day after flaunting his friendship with Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron forcefully challenged many of the U.S. president’s policies on Wednesday, urging the United States to engage more with the world, step up the fight against climate change and stay in the Iran nuclear pact for now.
Capping a three-day visit, Macron repeatedly criticized the president’s isolationist principles in a speech to a joint meeting of Congress, an honour given to a small number of visiting foreign leaders.
During the visit, they repeatedly shook and grabbed hands, exchanged kisses on the cheek, and slapped each other’s backs while praising their friendship. Trump even removing Macrons dandruff.
But before Congress, Macron suggested he wanted more than just good optics.
The French president even took a dig at Trump’s famous 2016 campaign slogan, calling for the United States to help “make our planet great again.”
